Marizya Mohammadi

Marziya was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia as a practicing lawyer in November 2021.

Since commencing her legal career in January 2022, Marziya has worked on range of matters, including partner, protection, family, student, and skilled visas as well as matters before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Marziya has also experience with visa cancellations and refusals, requests for Ministerial Intervention and matters before Immigration Assessment Authority.

Marziya is keenly aware of the barriers facing migrants and refugees in accessing legal advice and is particularly interested in refugee rights and law reform. Marziya aims to handle all matters with compassion, sensitivity, and professionalism, ensuring that her advice is specifically tailored to the complex needs of her clients.

In recognition of her work and advocacy for refugees, Marziya was awarded the Channel 9 Young Achiever Awards in 2015, and the Welcoming Australia Medal in 2023.

Marziya is fluent in multiple languages, including Hazaragi, Dari, Farsi, Urdu, and Hindi.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of South Australia
  • Bachelor of International Development from the University of Adelaide
  • Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law
Life before joining Beena Rezaee Legal & Migration

Before joining BRL, Marziya worked as a lawyer at Carina Ford Immigration Lawyers, having previously completed internships with Mahony’s Lawyers and Cowell Clarke in Adelaide. Prior to her legal career, Marziya worked in the refugee settlement sector as a case manager.

Outside work, Marziya enjoys reading, hiking, spending time with family, and watching her favorite shows.
