Iqbal was admitted to practice in February 2022. He is a graduate of a double degree of a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International Studies at the University of Adelaide. Iqbal has a keen interest in Migration Law, Administrative Law, Employment and Industrial Law, Commercial Law, Personal Injury Law and Humanitarian Law. Iqbal works from our Adelaide office, but can service clients internationally and Australia-wide.>/p>
Iqbal also assists our clients with reviews in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Federal Courts and Immigration Assessment Authority. He is a passionate and skilled advocate who does not shy away from a challenge.
Before joining Beena Rezaee Legal & Migration, Iqbal undertook internships with Camatta Lempens Lawyers and the Legal Services Commission of South Australia. Iqbal also worked as a volunteer law clerk with Victoria Legal Aid. Since 2013, Iqbal has had extensive exposure to legal processes and procedures as an accredited interpreter. Through this, Iqbal facilitated highly professional and accurate communications at the Administrative Appeals Tribunals, Federal Courts, District Court and Fair Work Commission.
As Vice-President and later President of the Association of Australian Tertiary Students from Afghanistan (AATSA) and as Editor of Daricha Periodical, Iqbal promoted the value of higher education for integration, empowerment and development of Australians from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds.
Iqbal enjoys writing poems, novels and advocates for the human rights of refugees and asylum seekers. In his spare time, Iqbal learns guitar, explores the outback in road trips and loves to enjoy the sunsets along the beaches.
